cliff Pictures
Finding good cliffs to photograph is easier in dry climates. In
areas with lots of rain you can't see the cliffs for all
the trees. There is an old joke that goes
"Not a tree in sight to spoil the view!"
Our specialty is shear rock faces with interesting visual
and light effects. They are the kind of pictures that
make a good background for proverbs or verses.
Road cuts in rocky country often expose interesting rocks,
with unique color and apperance.
The Sandia Mountains east of Albuquerque, New Mexico are
fault block mountains. That means the mountains were
pushed up along a fault line so the west face of the Sandia's
has many shear faces. These shear faces are popular
with climbers.
Walking Rain Gallery
This website displays only a few of our collection of cliff
pictures. At Walking Rain Gallery we have more, as
well as many pictures of other subjects. Clicking
links on this site will take you to the cliff category
of Walking
Rain Gallery. Once
there you can see all of our cliff pictures and order
whatever pictures and/or products you would like. We
invite you to look around and see what we have in other categories
while you are there.
About us and our cliff pictures
We enjoy photography and use the income from sales of our
pictures and products to finance more travel and photography. However,
we find the rights management conditions required by stock
photo companies unreasonable.
Our copyright and digital rights management is very simple:
you can do anything you want with these images, including
using them for commercial products, except claim
you have a copyright to the original image. We retain
the right to use the images ourselves in any way we please. Fair
enough?
We have included images on the website which are not
large enough to print a 5" x
7" at
300 DPI. The download for those is free. We think
that is a good way to let customers test our shopping cart
and enjoy pictures which are to small for demanding uses.
Techniques & Technology I got my first camera (a Nikkormat) in 1965 and have been
taking pictures ever since. We took slides for many
years and then converted to film. We finally made the
move to digital and are still in the conversion process. This
and related sites are being built by converting our huge
collection of negatives to digital, editing them with Photoshop,
and building websites based on the pictures and our experiences
taking them. It's a lot of work so it will be a while
before these sites can be considered a finished project. We
think there is a lot to enjoy in the meantime through. |
